About the opportunity
The Farm Business Apprentice challenges applicants to create a commercially
focused farming proposal based around Fordton Farm.
Applicants are encouraged to think beyond traditional farming models and consider
opportunities across arable farming, livestock, diversification, environmental schemes,
renewable energy and other commercially viable enterprises.
The opportunity is designed to identify ambitious individuals with innovative
ideas and strong commercial thinking.
About Fordton Farm
Fordton Farm is a 250-acre unit secured on a 25-year tenany near Crediton.
The farm includes:
- 200 acres of productive arable land
- 50 acres of marginal and shrub land
- 1,000-tonne grain store
- Agricultural building and infrastructure
- Additional diversification opportunities across the site

What you need to submit
Your Application
Applicants must submit:
- A written propsal (maximum 1,000 words)
- A video pitch (maximum 2 minutes)

The Prize
The winner will receive:
- £1,500 prize fund
- Three days of one-to-one mentoring
- Access to leading industry professionals including Tim Martin, Dianne Wastanage and Tom Cleave.
